My name is Niki Wahlström and I’m the proud owner of Goeksegh Alaskan Malamutes. We live in a small village in the north of Sweden called Lappträsk, not far from Haparanda and the Finnish border. With beautiful nature just outside the door we can go for long walks, mushing in the winter and swimming in one of the many lakes in the summer. It is the perfect environment for breeding and raising dogs.

The journey for me as a breeder started for real in 2015 when I had my first litter of Rottweilers and I soon realized that I had found my passion in life. Rottweilers have always had a special place in my heart and it was a great feeling to be able to welcome my first litter of this wonderful breed to the world. Another milestone on this amazing journey was in 2017 when I finally welcomed my first Alaskan Malamute, a breed I have always admired. The first litter of Malamutes were born in 2020 and I can not wait to see what the future has in store for us.

My goals in my breeding program for both breeds are to breed healthy, beautiful dogs with great mentality and bodies that are suitable for hard work; in other words not over- or underdone in any way. Both Malamutes and Rottweilers are working breeds and should be able to perform without having a body or mentality that stops them from doing so in the best way possible. The anatomy of the dog is what will make it or break it, both when working and showing. This is the reason why I’m very selective with what dogs I want to use in my program. All dogs that are used for breeding has excellent hips and elbows, are tested for neurological diseases and are shown with great results. The Rottweilers has also passed a mentality description before breeding and the Malamutes has had their eyes checked for hereditary eye diseases.
